Tek screws are self drilling screws designed to drill, tap and fasten into steel in one operation, reducing the need for separate pilot drilling. Our range covers carbon steel TEK 3 and TEK 5 drilling screws with bonded washers for fixing cladding, roofing sheets, liner panels and other components to light and heavy steel sections.

TEK 3 screws are intended for light section steel. The Evolution products in this range have a drilling capacity of 1.2mm to 4.0mm.
TEK 5 screws use a longer heavy-section drill point for steel from 4.0mm to 12.0mm. Their finer thread form is suited to thicker steel substrates.
Our current Evolution range is manufactured from SAE/AISI C1022 carbon steel and protected with a 500-hour EvoShield coating. Evolution also uses hardened, sharp drill points designed for quick drilling and consistent tapping into steel.

What Are Tek Screws Used For?
Typically fixing profiled roof and wall cladding, liner panels and general metal components to hot or cold rolled steel purlins and rails.
Choosing the Right Tek Screw
Start with the thickness of the steel you are fixing into. Use a TEK 3 screw for suitable light sections and a TEK 5 where the fixing needs to drill into heavier steel. Then select the screw length according to the total material build-up being fixed.
