Buy Stainless Steel Pozi Countersunk WoodScrews
This collection brings together our full range of stainless steel countersunk wood screws in A2 (304) stainless steel grade, manufactured to DIN 7997 for reliable fit and performance.
These Pozi/Pozidrive countersunk woodscrews are designed for timber, sheet materials and general carpentry where you want a flush finish, strong holding power and long-term corrosion resistance.
What are Stainless Steel Countersunk Wood Screws?
Stainless steel countersunk wood screws combine a traditional woodscrew thread with a flat, 90° countersunk head that sits level with the surface of the timber.
The Pozi drive (often written Pozi or Pozidrive) gives positive bit engagement and helps reduce cam-out when you are driving screws all day with cordless tools.
Our A2 stainless countersunk wood screws conform to DIN 7997, covering common trade sizes from approximately No.4 (3mm) up to No.14 (6mm) with a wide range of lengths.
A2 (304) stainless steel gives excellent resistance to rust and staining in most interior and exterior environments, unlike zinc-plated or bright steel screws which can corrode and mark the timber over time.
Why Choose Stainless Steel Countersunk Wood Screws?
- Corrosion resistance: A2 stainless steel is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, garden buildings and other damp environments where plated screws can rust.
- Neat, flush finish: The countersunk head sits level with or just below the timber surface, ready for paint, filler or a clean exposed finish.
- Secure Pozi drive: Deep pozi recess for positive drive and reduced bit slip on site.
- Timber-friendly thread: Single, coarse wood thread designed to grip into softwood, many hardwoods and sheet materials such as ply and MDF.
- Metric and gauge sizes: Options from roughly 3mm to 6mm (No.4 to No.14), in a variety of short, medium and longer lengths for different timber thicknesses.
Typical Trade Uses
Stainless steel countersunk wood screws are a stapl fixing for joiners, carpenters, builders and garden room installers.
Common applications include:
- Hanging doors, fixing hinges, keeps and other ironmongery
- Securing skirting, architraves, door linings and window boards
- Fixing battens, trims and grounds to studwork or masonry plugs
- Built-in furniture, cupboards, shelving and carcassing
- Timber cladding, fascia/soffit details and small external framing
- General repairs and maintenance where a rust-resistant screw is preferred
For coastal or very aggressive environments, some trades will move to A4 (316) marine grade stainless. Please get in touch on our live chat to order A4 stainless at Fixabolt's usual great prices.
For most UK domestic and commercial joinery, A2 stainless steel countersunk woodscrews provide more than enough corrosion protection with a cleaner look than plated fixings.
Choosing the Right Size
For lighter fittings and hardware, smaller diameters such as 3mm and 3.5mm (roughly No.4 and No.6) are often used.
For heavier joinery, battens and framing into studs or joists, 4.0mm and 5.0mm (No.8 and No.10) stainless countersunk wood screws are very common trade choices, with longer 5.5mm and 6.0mm screws used where a more substantial fixing is needed.
As a simple guide:
- Shorter lengths: small hinges, brackets, clips and trims.
- Medium lengths: battens, linings, general carcassing and joinery.
- Longer lengths: deeper fixings into studs, joists and thicker sections of timber.
