Coach Screws FAQs

How do you install coach screws?

Drill a pilot hole slightly smaller than the screw diameter, then drive in using a spanner or socket. Easy and effective.

Can coach screws be used in concrete?

Yes, with the right wall plug or anchor. For direct-to-concrete fixings, check out our masonry through bolts.

Do coach screws need rawl plugs?

In masonry or concrete, sometimes, but not always. It really depends on how solid the concrete is and how loose the pre-drilled hole is. In timber, no plug needed - just drill and drive.

What are coach screws used for?

They’re commonly used to fix timber to timber, or to secure metal brackets to wood in structural and outdoor builds.

Can coach screws be used outdoors?

Definitely. Our stainless steel coach screws are designed to withstand the elements and won’t rust.

Fixings you can trust. Fixings made for the trade. That’s Fixabolt®.
